A Shinny Monday Morning (and hazy too in KL).
Look what I have got today! A piece of therapeutic art, mid-way to completion. I read quite a bit on the internet related to this adult colouring activities and people who create such an amazing patterns for it and many of these made their way to appear for sale in local book stores like MPH, Borders, and many more bookstores.
What I proudly presented to myself is the “Secret Garden, An Inky Treasure Hunt and Colouring Book” by Johanna Basford, originally published in March 2013 and reprinted many times now.
It was claimed to be able to really therapeutic that it brings more concentration while we focus on colouring and sort-of release stress.

A bit of my background related to this art sense, I did pretty well in my secondary and high school and even participated in many art event and some of my artwork was selected in the Youth Art Exhibition (I don’t remember which year tough.. ..lol). I have a group of young little kids as my students back then around year 1994-95 too!
After that, I went on to college and university studies… and working life.. that I did not have a lot of chance to colour again. I am pretty excited with the creation of this adult colouring book, and even thought of myself to ‘copy’ this idea to come out with some pattern for people to colour it.
First step for me, is to experience colouring by myself. So that is why I bought this book and start colouring! Result, AMAZING…!!
I am able to Focus, have passion to do it, and imagine what I want to see with the flower, whether it should be hiding behind another, or standout from all others… which colour I should choose so it doesn’t overlapped the touching edge of my other flowers…!! .. Love the feeling of peace, bringing back a lot of my childhood satisfaction feeling (drawing, sketching and painting is one of the thing I proof myself that I can do very well with that in my teenage age).
I have a very busy lifestyle, I timebox myself, 1 hour a day to get myself into this ‘new toy’ J
Snapshot below.. hope you enjoy it.
